Smallville

I just completed the entire 1st season of Smallville on DVD. The series turned out to be a lot better than I expected(a lot better than what I have seen on TV).

For those who came in late, its the story of Clark Kent's life before he became Superman. Some of the stuff I liked were:

1. Lex Luther and Clark Kent are friends. Lex is a totally chilled out guy whose always helping his few friends in every possible way. But the fact is he's the bad guy of Superman mythical world.and it's gonna happen in the 4th season. Probably gonna stop watching the show after the 3rd season. I know where its headed from there.

2. The just-made-for-tv character Chloe is cool as the journalist in school. She has a wall of weird with all the weird things that have happened in Smallville after the meteor showers.

3. Lana Lang is beautiful.

4. Save Me by Remy Zero is a great theme song for the show. I never thought that any show had a great n apt theme song like California-The OC.

5. In the 19th episode, Adam Brody(Seth Cohen of The OC) makes an apperance as the man with telekinetic powers.

Nerdy

My exams start from the 31st. Damn! its on new year's eve. It ends on the 15th of Jan.

What a boring winter I'll be having. Actually, its already boring now. Studying day in and day out isn't better than the actual exams. This is the 1st time I'm studying seriously for exams since the boards. God! this is also going to be my 1st exams after almost a year.

Among other things, Monday was spent frantically searching for the Solid Edge DVD which I need for drawing and design. I finally got it, where else but brigade road. The Computer Shop in Curzon Complex is THE shop for softwares' and other PC related stuffs.

Stardust

Can't believe that I saw Stardust for a second time.

Well,I have done just that. Its a fantasy movie but not restricted to children. Its set in the 18th century and incorporates ghosts, witches, princes, shooting stars, Unicorn, pirates et all.

Charlie Cox plays a village boy from the Wall Village who sets out to bring a fallen star for the hand in marriage of his love Victoria. Instead he meets Claire Danes who is the fallen star and eventually falls in love with her. Michelle Pfeiffer is the witch who wants the star's heart to gain ever long youth. She's scary to the hilt. Robert De Niro is wonderful as Captain Shakespeare who is an air pirate because he has a flying ship.

Stardust is wonderfully written and executed without a single boring moment. The guard watching the wall, the goat who is turned into a man by the witch, the man turned into a girl, the ghosts are all too hilarious to be missed. I would recommend this to adults too. The cinematography and special effects(the moving camera during the night over mountains, zooming in and out) are awe-inspiring.

Time For A Change

Ok!! So, I've been partying excessively or not partying excessively for the last 2-3 weeks. Either way, I've been skipping my classes. Come to think of it, when was the last time I attended an entire day of class??
I havent been keeping well and there's the odd sleeping habit of going to bed at 4am and getting up at 1 pm. Excuses aside, I'll have to keep a check on my class attendance.
And I've got to study from tomorrow if I want to even pass in my internals on november 22nd. I haven't read a thing in the past two months.
So the final word is 4 hours study, 2 hours play from tomorrow on a daily basis. Is this routine lame??......ahh....just follow it.

Black Eyed Peas Live in Bangalore

The Black Eyed Peas finally came to bangalore on the 16th of october. The gates were supposed to open at 5-30 pm but I was standing in the queue since 3 pm. But still I was ahead of everyone else in the line. The gates opened at 6 pm and the show started 2 hours later. It was the longest 2 hours of my life and the crowd was impatient. Everyone was shouting even when the music arrangers were coming on stage. Then the lights went off. 10 seconds later the BEP's were coming There was a big hysteria when they finally came on stage. People were shouting so much that nothing could be heard of the 1st song,"Dum Diddly". For a second, I was thinking, "are they here for real?". They show was really great and Fergie and Will.i.am even sang their solo songs. These pictures are not all mine.

Tickets to the show. They finally did come on stage.
They played a song from their new albm titled The E.N.D.(the energy never dies). The song had a very catchy chorus and they wanted the crowd to sing along. N so eveyone did sing the crazy chorus even though we were hearing it for the 1st time.
Apl.de.Ap singing his "Bebot". The crowd went berserk dancing to the anthemic Filipino chorus, and so did Apl N Fergie. Me in da crowd, excited as hell. Fergie singing "Fergalicious".
Taboo, my favourite among the Peas raps in their biggest hit,"Where is the love?". Taboo was crazy on stage, jumping around, passing drumsticks to the audience and catching stuffs like chains that were passed on to the stage.
Apl,"What U gonna do with all that junk, inside ur trunk" Fergie,"I'ma get get get get you to hump, Get U to hump me all night long"

India win T20 world Cup

This is the 2nd major cricket event. India won the 1st ever 20-20 world cup by beating Pakistan in the final. Some observations:

i) Gautam Gambhir was the highest scorer in the final with his career best(T20 career) of 75 runs from only 53 balls. He was also the highest run-getter for India in the series with 218 runs and the 2nd highest overall.

ii)Misbah-ul-haq was the highest scorer of the series. He revived the final game for Pakistan after a racy 43 at a stage when Pakistan needed more than 50 runs off the last 5 overs. He was smashing sixes of every bowler and finally they needed 13 off the last over. After hitting another six over long-off, he needed 6 off the last 4 balls. The very next ball was flicked over short-leg and was caught by Sreesanth. It was a stupid shot and the most important catch of Sreesanth's career.

iii)Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes in an over versus England. India scored 218 in that match and England chased till 200. Well,Yuvraj's 58 had made the difference in the match. He also made the record of the fastest fifty in a match off only 13 balls.

iv) Shahid Afridi got the man of the series award for his 12 wickets in the series although his famed big hitting with the bat wasnt on much display.

v)Irfan Pathan was declared the manof the match in the final for his 3 crucial wickets in 2 overs that completely destroyed Pakistan's strong middle batting order.

vi) Captains MS Dhoni and Shoab Malik batted beautifully throughout the innings and were the 2nd highest scorers fo theirs respective teams.

vii) Chris Gayle hit the lone century of the innings in the very 1st match against South Africa. Inspite of his 117 with 10 sixes and WI reaching 206, SA won the match mainly due to Herschelle Gibbs' 90.
viii)Umar Gul was the highest wicket taker with his tally of 13 wickets.

I LEFT U BEHIND

Nothing you say
can do anything to me
Anymore.

The daggers in your eyes
melted a hole
in my heart,
now closed.

The truth of your self
has been
found out.

I left you
behind,
to get up
and
follow my
Dreams.
